I once thought sun was the only way to live.
Immersed myself in the warmth, color, and light.
Take and take till there is nothing left to give,
Leave me alone in the darkness of the night.
Clouds of black wrapped around me like a bedsheet,
Cried with me till our teardrops mixed together.
Take in the discomfort of rain on concrete,
Learn the beauty of the varying weather.
Clouds offer me water to savor- to drink,
Gifting me the essentials of survival.
Lead me to the place my soul and Earth are linked-
Allow me to feel waters of revival.
Let the raindrops fall like kisses on my skin.
I’ll drink them up the way I soak the sun in.
